HEMP & CBD FAQs
In an industry that is mired with confusing messages and often cloudy products we seek to provide clarity.
What’s found in hemp extract that makes it so beneficial for our health? Hundreds of naturally occurring compounds known as cannabinoids. Cannabidiol, most often referred to as CBD, is the most abundant cannabinoid found in hemp.
CBD and other cannabinoids and phytocannabinoids provide a variety of wellness benefits. Nearly every organ in the body contains special receptors that interact with the endocannabinoids that our body naturally produces. This is called our endocannabinoid system. It plays an important role in many essential bodily functions, affecting our mood, appetite, memory, sleep quality, and even reproductive health and fertility.
Unlike mammals, who produce endocannabinoids, plants produce phytocannabinoids, like CBD. While much is still being learned about how cannabinoids interact with our bodies, there is much research to suggest that when we introduce CBD to our system, it can block the enzymes that break down our own endocannabinoids. This allows our body to more effectively heal itself.
Through continuing scientific research and developments in the extraction process, we can now access these powerful natural compounds fully, in potent doses, for maximum therapeutic benefits.
Cannabis is a type of plant often used as an umbrella term to speak about both hemp and marijuana. You can extract CBD from both plants, but the major difference is THC content and legality.
Hemp contains dramatically lower amounts of THC. That’s why it’s the ideal choice for pure CBD oil extraction and full-spectrum hemp extracts. Hemp-derived CBD extracts should only have trace amounts of THC within the legal limit, and with no psychoactive effects.
Marijuana, on the other hand, contains much higher amounts of THC, which have psychotropic effects and may be illegal depending on where you live.
A full-spectrum hemp extract contains a wide variety of the hemp plant’s beneficial vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, terpenes, and phytocannabinoids present in the hemp plant. In comparison, CBD isolates only contain CBD. To get the most benefit from hemp extract, our body needs the “entourage effect,” when all compounds of the hemp plant unite to provide whole-body balance. When all of these compounds work together, they more efficiently communicate with your body’s neurotransmitters. Full-spectrum hemp extract gives you the broadest range of holistic benefits for your body and life.
When deciding between CBD products, it’s important to verify that your supplement has complied with industry-standard testing to ensure it’s a product you can trust with your health and the health of your loved ones.
At REMDE, our testing procedures are of the utmost importance to us and our customers. We work hard to guarantee that our products surpass the rigorous requirements put in place by third-party testing facilities.
We are 100 percent transparent with our test results—we even post them for your review on our website. Each of our products is made in small batches. By quickly looking up your product’s Lot Number, you can view the original, unaltered third-party Certificate of Analysis for that specific bottle.
These results show you the exact concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes and many other details. These meticulous reviews also test for:
a) residual solvents
b) foreign matter
c) pesticides
d) microbials
e) mycotoxins
g) heavy metals
REMDE uses two proprietary extraction methods to create our line of high quality and pure products: Full-Spectrum Hemp extraction Certified THC-Free extraction.
Full Spectrum
While many manufacturing processes isolate only CBD, this method strips the final hemp extract of many of the plant’s most beneficial elements. It’s kind of like eating the inside of your baked potato and tossing the skin. Or juicing and throwing out the beneficial fiber pulp. You still receive important body-boosting benefits from CBD isolates, but not nearly as many as you’d receive from a full-spectrum hemp extract.
REMDE products are custom-made to ensure that you receive the full spectrum of therapeutic, bioavailable cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, and fats available in the hemp plant. We achieve this through a unique process that rigorously preserves this botanical’s most nourishing aspects. First, we purchase U.S.-grown hemp from our network of American farmer partners. Next, we use low-temperature CryoPress with food grade ethanol to derive our extract, which removes unwanted plant wax, chlorophyll, and even THC. The end result? A virtually THC-free* extract that retains all of the hemp plant’s most powerful health-boosting compounds—so you can enjoy hemp’s full therapeutic potential.
Certified THC-Free
Our Certified THC-Free extracts go through two processes. First, the CryoPress extraction. Then, a distillation. This dual extraction method removes all THC without damaging or discarding wellness-boosting terpenes and cannabinoids. If you hear people refer to this product as a “broad spectrum hemp extract,” it’s one in the same!
Remember these four standards when evaluating an extraction process: quality, purity, potency, and sustainability. Those are the cornerstones of the REMDE family of products. Our extract is clear, and our glass tincture bottles don’t hide anything. You’ll always have a crystal clear window to see just how easy it is to find your balance with REMDE.
*In adherence to the standards set by the federally approved 2018 Farm Bill, REMDE’s Full Spectrum Hemp Extract products contain less than 0.3% THC.
